The escape route took the 6 Canadians from the crash site, to the Island of Strono, to Hattwik, then to Lonnindal and on to Little Canada.The way back require a trip by boat from Lonningdal to Ospoy, and then out to a small, unnamed island to wait for the "Shetland Express".
